4 Miles!!!!!
I had a great run on Friday. I ran 4 miles non-stop!!!!! Saul told me to pace myself at 13 minutes per mile. I was able to keep the pace and finish. Honest be told, I think I could have gone another mile. I'm getting stronger. My form still needs work, but at least I'm not slouched over by the end of the run. My breathing is getting better. I'm building up my lungs. I'm going to push a little harder next week. I'm going to throw in two runs in the morning next week to see if that will build up my lung capacity. Guess what else??? I finally lost 4 lbs!!!!!! I was stuck at 153 for about 6 weeks and the scale finally budge. I was getting nervous. Every since I started training for the marathon, I'm hungry all the time. Saul said that was normal since I'm working out more often. It means my metabolism is speeding up. I can see the changes on my body as well. I'm feeling positive and the marathon looks feasible. Pangchee sent me the course map and it doesn't look like there are a lot of hills. In order to get clocked in, I have to keep my pace at 16 minutes per mile. I know I can do it. I'm getting stronger each week and I'm discovering that I am an athlete. I'm letting go of old demons and opening a new world of possibilities. I'm a firm believer that change is possible.
