Week 6: Monday, April 19,2010

This is week 6 of training for me. My progress so far has been 2 miles of straight running in about 24 minutes. By the end of the 2 miles, I'm still out of breath, but I believe in time it'll get easier. I have to remember to breathe and sweat it off. So this week's goal is to reach 3 miles of running without any walks in between. Thank you Hua for motivating me to do this half marathon. It scares me still, but I'm learning how to trust myself again. For so long now, I have lost my faith, my strength, and my courage in myself, but with every step I take, it gives me the strength to believe in me again.

Recap:
Friday - We went to the lake and ran 3 miles. I ran with my son and my nephew, so I was able to pull a ten minute run with them, but as soon as we hit the hill, I had to slow it down and help them with their bike and scooter. So I didn't get to push myself as hard I want, but there's always next time.
Saturday - I took my two boys biking for my usual 2 mile run around our neighborhood. I was able to pull 16 minutes of straight running with one minute of walking in between. It's so much harder bringing the kids along on the run, but what can I say, they need the outside sunshine as much as I do!
Sunday was my rest day. I figure I'll give my ankle a rest. Yes it's still acting up, but hopefully it'll get better.

Tonight - My goal is to add another mile to my usual 2 mile run. The sun is still smiling down upon MN, so it's going to be a good run!
