Can you believe it's already April 1st? The marathon is just right around the corner. I didn't get a chance to check in yesterday. Tip: Never go out running a full stomach!!!!! I was not able to run, so I walked instead. It's was my lazy day and I walked 45 minutes.
Today, I met with my runner trainer Saul. I warmed up by walking around the park for 45 minutes. Instead of running at the park, I ran on a treadmill. This is the first time I did this. I have to say it's easier to run on a treadmill than on grass/concrete. I breathe a lot harder when I'm running outside vs. on a treadmill. Don't get me wrong, I still worked up a sweat, but why was I so scared of the treadmill before. There was no reason to be scared at all. I walked for the first 5 minutes then ran on the treadmill for the next 25 minutes at a 5.2 speed. I'm feeling pretty good and will start to run on the treadmill more often to build up my endurance and speed. We ended the session with core work focusing on my stomach muscles. It's important because as I get tired during the race my body will start to slouch and the core work will help me stay in an upright position. Who knew??? I'm learning something new each day. I had another non scale victory (NSV). For the first time I was able to lift my legs my up laying on my back going up and down. That was pretty cool. Never doubt yourself, change is possible.
I registered for the 5K run in Seal Beach, CA on 04/10/10. Saul will be running with me. Wish me luck!
Hope you all are moving!
Much love,
