Tuesday, 04/27/10

Congrats Pang on the 3.5 miles!!!!! That's awesome. Keep it up!

I had a doctor's appointment today and took the day off from work. If only I could afford to retire right now, there would be so many things I could do and devote my time to. I woke up this morning and went for a 40 minute walk to start my day. I was not able to drink or eat anything in the morning since I was having some lab work done. I'll get my lab work results in another week or so, but my doctor said everything looked good. Guess what else? I weigh 148 lbs. That's a total of 79 lbs. Woo-hoo!!!!!!!! My original goal weight was 135 lbs, but I think 125 lbs sounds manageable. I'm getting close. I came home and had lunch. Lunch was quite boring: baked chicken breast. It took me forever to chew chew chew. I managed to keep the food down. I waited a while before hitting the gym for my workout. I'm an idiot. I did Wednesday's workout instead of Tuesday. I'll have to do Tuesday's workout tomorrow. For the first 3 minutes on the treadmill, I walked at a 3.2 speed and then started to run and increased my speed to 4.0, then after another five minutes, increased it to 4.2 and eventually stayed at 4.6 speed until the last 10 minutes. Drumroll please.....I ran the last 10 minutes at 5.0. Go me!!!! I haven't been able to hit 5.0, but today I did. It's only 10 minutes, but I'll take it. I finished off by slowing down the speed to 2.5 and walked for an additional 5 minutes. That's a total of 8 minutes walking and 48 minutes running. My legs felt like they were floating, but it was a good feeling. I plan to stay on track even if the food is boring. I'll need to find some interesting meal plans to keep me motivated. Keep moving and pushing forward!

I almost forgot....I signed up for another 5K run in Encino on May 22nd. This will be my second 5K run. I want to beat my time of 33:20. Wish me luck!
